I'm glad to report that I continued my 100% run of not guessing the Booker Prize winner last night. In fact, I may have surpassed even my woeful record, having yesterday stated that Howard Jacobson was the only author I couldn't see winning!
I really liked the Damon Galgut and Emma Donoghue books but don't mind them not winning. After all, since when has winning the Booker Prize been a guaruntee of a good read?
So harrah for unpredictability, hurrah for the judges breaking new ground. I got a copy from Waterstone's UEA last week and will start it at lunch today. I don't read much comic fiction so I'll be interested to see what it's like.
